Finding time and space to paint

Cathy says:

"Laura always makes her classes fun! So patent, I have bever thought of myself as any kind of artist, but I've always felt confident and proud of what I've created leaving her class."

Elaine says:

"OMG! Laura has been my teacher for so many years I have learned so much from her. As I look back on my first year paintings, I thought they were good. As I see what I am doing now, I see how much I have progressed all thanks to Laura. I have sold many works thanks to her encouragement! Have been so lucky! She is no only an excellent teacher, but has become my friend."

Kathleen says:

"Love your classes no matter what you offer. Your teaching style fits my way of learning and I have built more confidence in what I am trying to accomplish, a decent picture I can hang on my wall. I really love working with the watercolors, it is forgiving and soothing to me, no stress. I have always loved your classes and can't wait for the next class offered".

Are you ready to start your art journey?

Why are these ladies smiling?

Many of my students have confided in me, sharing heartbreaking stories of being discouraged from pursuing their passion for art. From casual remarks to outright hostility, some have endured experiences as traumatic as seeing their painstaking work washed away by an unsympathetic teacher. It's a narrative too familiar to many of us, resonating with the sting of dashed dreams and diminished confidence. Consequently, it's not uncommon for students to enter my class burdened with self-doubt, offering preemptive apologies or voicing negative expectations: "I can't draw a straight line," "This will surely be a disaster," or "I'm not cut out for this." Before even touching a brush, they're already consumed by anxiety.

Yet, by the end of each session, a remarkable transformation occurs. Despite their initial trepidation, they find themselves pleasantly surprised by the joy they've experienced and the quality of their creations.

IT'S TIME TO CHANGE THE DIALOGUE IN YOUR HEAD!

Hello, I'm Laura.

I have been an artist all my life. that's right. As soon as I popped into this world, I was a gifted artist selling all around the world!

No. don't believe it. I was just like you. The only difference was my desire to be creative and, in the beginning, my outlet was crayons and paper. Over the years, I could not be stopped. Any and every surface was my canvas. My father's Rolodex was a scribble of red and yellow crayon with a touch of blue pen. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way I was told art was a hobby, not a career. So, I left the crayons behind and entered the workforce. I was well into my 40s when I was hired by an internationally known artist as the office studio manager. Hhe and his wife encouraged me to rekindle my love for art and pick up the brush, but not just for me, but to teach others.

I cannot be more thankful for their intervention and giving me an art career. I only hope I can give you the same support and encouragement.
